The Republic of Ireland economy with a population of 4.47 Million (Est 2010) ranks 53rd in the world with a GDP PPP of 188 billion and GDP PPP per capita of 38,685 vs 45,934 (United States) according to the IMF in 2009. They are a European Union member and use the Euro (EUR) for their national currency which is the 2nd most traded currency in the world. According to CIA.gov its inflation was 4.1% in 2008 and -4.5% in 2009.
